Last updated: 14 September 2026 · Version: 1.1
Operator: Elexbig (“Elexbig”, “we”, “us”, “our”)
Elexbig is committed to conducting its business responsibly, ethically, and with respect for human dignity. We believe that every person has the right to work in safe and dignified conditions and should be protected from exploitation, forced labour, human trafficking, child labour, and other forms of abuse.
This Modern Slavery and Ethical Sourcing Statement explains Elexbig's commitment to preventing and addressing modern slavery and exploitative labour practices within our operations, vendor relationships, and marketplace.
1. Our Commitment
1.1 Elexbig has zero tolerance for modern slavery and exploitative labour practices, including:
- Forced labour: Work or services obtained through threats, coercion, deception, intimidation, or abuse of a person's vulnerability.
- Human trafficking: The recruitment, transportation, transfer, harbouring, or receipt of persons for the purpose of exploitation.
- Child labour: The unlawful employment or exploitation of children, particularly where work is hazardous or interferes with education and development.
- Debt bondage: Situations where a person is forced to work to repay a debt and is unable to freely leave the arrangement.
- Slavery and servitude: Situations in which a person is deprived of their freedom and forced to provide labour or services.
- Other exploitative labour practices: Practices involving serious abuse, coercion, intimidation, or exploitation of workers.
1.2 Elexbig expects vendors and business partners using our platform to conduct their activities responsibly and in compliance with applicable Nigerian laws.
1.3 We do not knowingly permit products produced through forced labour, human trafficking, or unlawful child labour to be sold through the Elexbig marketplace.
2. Our Business and Supply Chain
2.1 Elexbig is a technology marketplace that connects independent vendors with customers. Elexbig does not manufacture the majority of products sold through the marketplace.
2.2 Our marketplace may include vendors ranging from established businesses and physical stores to individual sellers, depending on our applicable vendor requirements.
2.3 Because products sold through Elexbig may originate from different manufacturers, distributors, wholesalers, importers, and other suppliers, we recognise that Elexbig may not have direct visibility into every stage of a product's supply chain.
2.4 We therefore seek to reduce supply-chain risks through vendor verification, marketplace policies, product monitoring, reporting mechanisms, and appropriate action when concerns are identified.
Our business relationships may include:
- Independent vendors and sellers
- Manufacturers, wholesalers, distributors, and suppliers connected to our vendors
- Technology and software service providers
- Payment service providers
- Logistics and delivery partners
- Marketing and professional-service providers
3. Prohibited Labour Practices and Products
3.1 Vendors must not knowingly sell or promote products on Elexbig that have been produced using forced labour, human trafficking, or unlawful child labour.
3.2 Vendors are expected to comply with applicable Nigerian employment, labour, consumer-protection, and other laws relevant to their businesses and products.
3.3 Vendors must provide truthful and accurate information during onboarding and when requested by Elexbig.
3.4 Where Elexbig identifies credible concerns relating to forced labour, trafficking, child exploitation, or other serious unlawful conduct, we may take appropriate action, including:
- Requesting additional information or evidence
- Temporarily restricting a product listing
- Delisting a product
- Restricting or suspending a vendor account
- Terminating a vendor's access to the marketplace
- Cooperating with relevant authorities where appropriate or legally required
4. Vendor Verification and Due Diligence
4.1 Elexbig operates a vendor onboarding and verification process designed to establish the identity and legitimacy of persons and businesses using our marketplace.
4.2 Depending on the vendor type and applicable requirements, our verification process may include:
- Identity verification
- Business information
- Contact information
- Business registration information where applicable
- Required Know Your Vendor (KYV) documentation
- Review of vendor and store information
- Review of product listings
4.3 Verification does not mean that Elexbig guarantees or independently certifies every vendor's entire supply chain. Vendors remain responsible for ensuring that their business activities and products comply with applicable laws and Elexbig's policies.
4.4 Elexbig may request additional information about a product, supplier, manufacturer, or source where circumstances give us reason to investigate potential compliance or ethical-sourcing concerns.
5. Product and Marketplace Monitoring
5.1 Elexbig reviews product listings and marketplace activity to help maintain a safe, trustworthy, and compliant marketplace.
5.2 Where we receive credible information suggesting that a product or vendor may be connected to forced labour, trafficking, child exploitation, or another serious violation, we may investigate the matter.
5.3 During an investigation, Elexbig may temporarily restrict the affected listing or vendor activity where reasonably necessary to protect customers, vendors, or the integrity of the marketplace.
5.4 Elexbig may also remove products or suspend vendors where information provided during onboarding or product listing is false, misleading, incomplete, or inconsistent with our policies.
6. Reporting Concerns
6.1 Anyone who has a genuine concern about modern slavery, forced labour, human trafficking, child labour, or serious exploitation connected to a product or vendor on Elexbig is encouraged to report it.

7. Nigerian Legal Framework
7.1 Elexbig's commitment is informed by applicable Nigerian laws and regulations relating to human trafficking, forced labour, child protection, employment, consumer protection, and human rights.
7.2 Relevant Nigerian legislation includes the Trafficking in Persons (Prohibition) Enforcement and Administration Act 2015, which provides the legal framework for preventing and prosecuting trafficking in persons and protecting victims.
7.3 The Child Rights Act 2003, as applicable in Nigeria and subject to relevant state adoption and implementation, provides protections concerning the rights and welfare of children, including protection from exploitative labour.
7.4 The Labour Act and other applicable employment laws provide requirements concerning employment and the protection of workers.
7.5 Elexbig also expects vendors to comply with applicable Nigerian laws and regulations relevant to their particular business activities.

- Provide truthful information about products and their sources when reasonably requested
- Report serious concerns that they become aware of where appropriate
Failure to comply with these requirements may result in enforcement action under Elexbig's Vendor Terms and other applicable policies.

11.2 Our review may consider:
- Reports and complaints received
- Vendor compliance issues
- Changes in our marketplace and supply chain
- Emerging risks
- Changes in applicable Nigerian laws and regulations
